Call Ducks Finally Hatched

My neigbor has a rouen hen and a blue swedish hen for sale was thinking of buying them both so they could sit on call duck eggs when they go broody, think it would work, or would they be a danger to baby call ducklings by stepping on them and squishing them? Anybody tried it? Thanks. Will have 8 chicken hens to put call eggs under too this year, maybe I won't have su h rotten luck hatching call babies in the incubator this year. :)

Chickens make the best incubator, HOWEVER, if this is there first time, BE READY to grab them. First timers don't always get it right and sometimes will give up. Silkies are the best, but Cochins will do very well too. So as long as your hen is determined, you should be OK. I would remove them once they hatch though.

Roosters tend to Kill off newborns. They tend to toss them around and what not.

Call duck eggs are small, so a larger bird may smash it.. I would go with a chicken versus a larger bird..
