Call Ducks- Noise level?

Thank you all for the responses. It is so hard to decide! I want to add a few Calls, but I don't want to push my luck with our new neighbors either. I have about decided to add a couple pairs on a trial basis. If they are too loud, they can go live with my MIL.

omg i had 12 ducks and all hens and i had 2 hen calls and you could hear her over all of the rest and when you feed ducks vocalize alot but i always new she was ready b/c you could ttly hear her over all of them....she was adorable tho getting more soon

I was thinking about getting a duck or two. And I worry about the noise. Then I think, for heavens sake I live in Oregon. I live a block from the river. I am constantly hearing geese, ducks, ravens and just yesterday I swear over one hundred little birds were hanging around in a tree behind my house making the loudest racket. They sounded like five hundred hyperactive finches on crack with megaphones. I don't know what they were, but they flitted around en mass from tree to tree until they all took off in formation. I don't know how anyone could complain about a couple of ducks...but I still worry...I was thinking about calls...they are supposed to be noisy...so I was thinking about a muscovy, but someone said they might pick on my Bantys.

muscovies are very quiet, and very large especially the drakes. but mine live with bantams and they don't pick on them. but they have alot of space too, which probably matters.

so I was thinking about a muscovy, but someone said they might pick on my Bantys.

Girl muscovys are very small, I'd say maybe around 4 lbs? For scale, I'd say Pekin ducks are perhaps twice the size of girl muscovys, if not more, girls have tiny little heads and necks.

My pekin is definitely louder than my calls when she wants to be. I think calls just make noise all the time, as apposed to my pekin who rarely makes noise, but when she does, she is very loud.

The boys are quiet, but the girls man oh man are they loud. Our girls all sound like they are laughing at you. 15 breeders and grow out pen full of juveniles and a ton of new hatchlings here. Love them, and the noise that comes with them.

Hmmmm...now try to imagine the sound of well over 100 breeders plus 120 ducklings....when I pull into the driveway they know it is feeding time, so all H*ll breaks loose. It takes us well over 2 hours just to water the call ducks.

You need to be sharing some of that call duck heaven! LoL I would like to add butters and pastels here next.
