Call Ducks or Bantams...Crazy Animals Around the Farm

This is why we went from all the ones we had down to the Orpingtons and Ameracaunas, why I'm keeping the EE's, getting my bloodline of bantams back, and why I want Russian Orloffs. Four-five breeds that sell well in our parts. Plus the pheasants and some ducks. Want to start a flock of Ringnecks to be able to breed and sell to the hunt clubs.
Chickens unless sexed are not profitable here. Max $5 a Chick..

Here it depends on breed and age. Also if your NPIP or not. My Ameracaunas are $10per chick, $15-20 juveniles and $30-40 adult. My Chocolates are $15 for day old, $25-35 juveniles and $50-75 adults depending on laying and sex. Bantams are cheaper to feed but sell like my Ameracauna bc they come from blue ribbon bloodlines, the Russian Orloffs I want sell high too bc they are on the conservancy watch list and considered endangered. The EE's are popular so they sell quick around here. Calls would be profitable bc there's not a lot around here. I guess it depends on location too..... Lots of rural farmlands here and homesteading/chicken raising is quite popular.
Me! :wee

I don’t like waiting

Yes you! I don't either. I envision something and wish I have my fairy godmother to wave her wand and make it happen.... That's the life of a dreamer I reckon.:highfive:

Not here. I don't think people pay those kind of prices for chicks around here. Even npip certified. Maybe pullets and older ones - and the breeds you have if they come from a certified breeder. But, generally chicks are $5 or less. Basically a dime a dozen.
