Old mama Orpington in front, she has arthritis in her back and legs, so in winter she stands more upright. She's 10 years old.
I occasionally see a Mareks bird but it's never been a big problem. I've always wondered what the difference is with my flock as to why it's just a thing and not something devastating. I do keep turkeys and have read they can give chickens a resistance to Mareks by carrying a less viral strain that allows chickens to build an immunity to Mareks without killing them.My Orpington lady had one that was 13 until she lost all her Birds to mereks..

13 is a very long lived hen. I always expect this year to be my hens last but she keeps surprising me.
