This is the most recent picture of my BO I could find. She is a JERK, and a PIG, and a WORD I CANT SAY, and MEAN, and SMELLY, and RUDE. I love her to bits, though she is not nice to me or the other chickens. She attacked my cockerel for food today, after she had just emptied out the feeder. As I have said before, she is a PIG. A rude, rude, pig.
Wow, I've never known a Buff to be any of the things you say yours is but if I had one like that or any of my hen's were like that, they would be culled from the flock! Thats my two cents on that. :)

We LOVE our 6 Buff Orpingtons!!
Hannah, Bella, Maisie, Olivia, Clementine, and Henny-Penny!

I am a new chicken owner and have 3 BO's. All girls and they are 11 weeks. I just want to hold and pat them but they are kinda skittish. 1 will let me hold her. We got them at a few days to a week old and handled them everyday. Will they come around to like being handled? We also hand feed mealworms everyday to try to get them to trust us. They are so pretty!!! Eggs at about 16 weeks right?

My bully, Buff. He's sweet towards me but won't leave my Cuckoo Maran alone, especially evening time. Often I have to intervene and put each on a separate roost area. He's just one of six roosters between 2 coops and share 1 pen. I have a couple buff Orpington hens but they don't like attention. I've got about 15 different breeds and crossed breeds plus 2 different duck breeds.

Here he decided to keep the 5 eggs in the nest warm until I collected them. After collecting them, he moved to a roost.

My two buffs are the epitome of good hens - they are beautiful and strong and they have that chicken wisdom but are kind of silly. They don't ask for belly rubs like my Australorps do but they are still affectionate and just an overall joy to have in the coop

My 2 buff Orpington hens laid between 19 and 21 weeks.

I am loving all the posts and photos!

I have six Buff Orpingtons that are 3 months old. They were raised from 1 day old by my big girls, who are Austrailian Orpingtons - I love the Orpington family. The "babies" as I call them, like to get up high to be out of the way of the big girls, so I have created lots of places in the coop and run for them to get up on during the day. Here are a few of them on top of the watering system and outer wall of the run. They crack me up all the time with their antics.
