I have a cat door cut into my garage door, the litter box is there, along with a vent fan. I toss a box of baking soda into each litter change, to keep odors at bay.

What type of litter are you using? We've switched to pine pellets and most of the smell has been eliminated. Though, if Jefferson drinks soapy water.... GAG.....

Another trick is the Glade carpet powder, neutralizer scented, I put a bit of that down in the box and it helps as well. We keep the spray cans of it nearby in case of a soapy water or upset stomach issue. It's a neutralizer that is very lightly scented and most scents make me sick, this one doesn't thankfully.
