I know that this will be a lot, but I really need help with this.
I have a pet broiler chicken (1 year and 10 months old) experiencing severe respiratory problems, likely due to a fungal infection, possibly candidiasis. This infection has affected multiple areas, including his comb (his comb was too big so it was bent all the time and there was a yellow gunk inside), face, skin, feathers, and ear lobes. Over the past months, the fungal infection has caused considerable damage, leading to feather loss and even peeling crusty fungi on his skin. The affected feathers showed a yellowish color at their roots. Before I used Amtyl 500, an antibiotic containing Amoxicillin and Tylosin, which was partially effective, but the fungi persisted. I managed to remove all of the yellow gunk that was dried after taking the Amtyl 500, but somehow it still did not go away and continued to eat his comb. Symptoms also suggest a yeast infection, with white foam coming out of his throat and a visible white spot/lesion on his palate. I concluded this because after I removed his feed in the morning, his mouth was full of white foam and he had trouble breathing. In an attempt to address the issues, I applied miconazole ointment, but it made the condition worse. I'm considering trying Nystatin oral suspension and would appreciate your thoughts on its effectiveness and how to use it.
The first picture shows the foaming and the white lesion/spot which I was told was a mycoplasma toxin and the yellow gunks I managed to remove last week from his comb. This is his current comb now but before the inside of it was full of yellow gunk. I also saw some black spots under his comb (head).
His current diet includes Enertone maintenance feed, and I've been supplementing with Vitamin ADE in his drinking water for almost a week in an attempt to boost his immune system, before was a Vetracin Classic. While he continues to eat and drink, he frequently sneezes during meals. I also noticed how he gaped for air, and since sneezing is also a symptom of gapeworms, I assumed that he had it so I decided to deworm him for the first time using a capsule containing Praziquantel and Levamisole. However, after the deworming, his stool exhibited the same color as the capsule (green), and would like to ask if it is normal. The foam in his mouth also became green.
Additionally, my chicken has been showing feather plucking/biting behavior, and I'm unsure whether this is due to protein deficiency or mite infestation. This resulted in ruffled feathers, and I'm debating whether I should bathe him or not. I also applied some VetRX on his comb, nose, and beak to give him relief.
I am very overwhelmed by all the issues that he has and I want him to be better. I know he's suffering all this time but everything I do just keeps getting worse. This is my first time taking care of a pet chicken and I just don't know what to do. He wasn't allowed to take vaccinations due to his age and I guess it is my fault for not knowing, and this is my last resort to save him. I took him to a vet several times but the vets near me don't specialize in poultry. I am seeking your help for his respiratory issues, fungal and yeast infections, feather plucking, and deworming-related concerns. I appreciate any insights you can provide to guide me in seeking the best care for my chicken.
