Calling all goat experts - help needed with sick baby goat.

Normally the doe would pass immunity to her kid if she had been vaccinated with the CDT vaccine. I vaccinate my goats because I had a lot of problems with my first Wether and don't want to deal with any more health issues than I have to with them.

He's jumping and leaping all over now as if he's feeling much better and stronger. He's "starving" about every half hour and wants to down a few ounces - bounce around - then sleep for a few minutes. So far, it's still a yellowish tinted poop tinged with blood and he seems to be straining to poop and cries a bit but at least he's pooping - at least I think that's a good sign.

Ok I have had goats. This is not normal as you already know. My opinion, and it is only that, is do what you are doing. Get as much milk in him as he needs, not to much not too little. Check the goat posts. Black Mesa Ranch has excellent tutorials now. One on how much to feed the babies. Then get as much of that out as possible, keep up the enemas. It is a miracle that it is working. Soon you should have it out. This looks very serious. You may lose him. I would not spend a fortune on vet bill. It is near certain that there is not really anything that they can really do. Whatever it is it is not normal. However if you can keep him on his feed and get it out maybe----- Kathyrn at Black Mesa is really good maybe she would advise if you sent her the pictures. Stay optimistic but know that it may

actually be his intestines, but somehow I do not think so.

I am the goat person that just responded. You know I would check that stuff to see if it is worms. The white stuff could be their excrement or related tissue.

I'm happy to report that our little Rocky seems to be doing really well. He lives in the house with short visits to his mom and sister in the stables and even an occasional visit outside with them. He seems to love it in the house and Rex comes in at night and baby sits him. He drinks a small bottle about every hour during the day and every three hours at night. But he's starting to nibble on feed so his poop is starting to change. He's a little power house jumping around and leaping and playing and he seems to really like all the cats and dogs and thinks he's one of them. Whenever he hears my voice he comes running to see his "mama".

Who knew I'd ever have a baby goat living in the house and be getting up every few hours to feed it all night long?
