calling all light brahma owners...Update with pictures page 3

Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain :

My newly hatched chicks were mostly yellow, with touches of grey here and there and fuzzy feet. They're now 9 weeks old, with the classic white feathers with black lacing... I've not seen one that's all white, though. Was this a hatchery order?

Well, the white one certainly has feathered feet!

I'd keep an eye on it... I'm scratching my head on that one!

Yes, they can hatch out all white and sometimes not alot of foot feathering...thats when I cull or give away as I don't want that in my breeding program...All of my hens and rooster have great feathering and great markings...so I think its like any other breed there can be a dud or two along the way...my thoughts...

If I had to choose just one breed of chicken Lt. Brahma would be it. We have the sweetest chicken IN THE WORLD named Bitsy. If she sees you, she comes running over to you and loves to be held and cuddled. When I go to close up the coop at night, she stands at the window and waits for her chicken loving sessions. She lays her head on my chest and coos and is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sweet. We rescued some Brahma chicks a while back and one of them, Mystery, who I think is half Lt. and half Dark Brahma is turning out just as sweet. When you go in the coop she runs over and jumps right up on you and loves being snuggled even at 8 weeks old. I LOVE this breed.

Mine's like that too... that's why we chose to breed them, too. I hatched a couple that don't have very good feathering on the feet, but those are going into the layer's coop. The others have massive feathers!

I ordered two females and one male, and they sent me a free male that are light brahma, but none of mine were that light. Yours are very cute. I hope that I got the right birds.

I had one that was very close to all yellow when she was just a few days old, but now @ 4 weeks she's getting some black markings; still mostly white though. Since I'm not interested in breeding I don't mind. I think she looks like a little dove. All my light brahmas are simply little cuddlebugs.
