After losing power and the temperature dropping to 86 in the bator Tuesday night I was really worried.
This morning it was the first thing I checked and temps/humidity were right on target but nada on pips or activity.
Right then I looked out my kitchen window to see our chestnut filly go running past with both our golden retrievers in hot pursuit
. So, my husband and I ran outside to first figure out how they all got loose....fix the fences....then round them up....pen them up and feed them. It looks like the horse wanted the dogs out because she knocked over a section of their wrought iron fence (fell into the dog yard) and they appeared to be having a grand time playing chase. I let the dogs in through the kitchen and they left a very nice trail of mud all the way to the garage door.
Anyway, hubby left for work so I fed everything/eveybody else while I was outside then headed back in the house to mop the floor. As I mopped the floor in front of the counter holding the incubator.......I looked over to find...............MY FIRST PIP
I guess it really is true....the watched pot never does boil...nor does the obsessively stared at egg ever hatch: The poor chickies probably felt like Angelina Jolie being stalked by the paparazzi.
My first contestant in the Hatch is Right...... is one of my Easter Eggers eggs. Nothing on the BCM eggs yet, but I have hope for fuzzy butts arriving in the not too distant future now
Go chickies go......
EDIT---10:30 update got my first pip on my shipped BCM Eggs
