Calling All New Brinsea Owners!!! January Hatch-a-long...

I hatched these babies on the 16th. They started under a broody but she was getting bored, so I added them to my Brinsea Oct 20

Although they hatched in the Brinsea, they weren't 'fully cooked' in there.

I have shipped eggs due to hatch on 1/29, though. They're bator cooked all the way. 9 of 12 going strong!

And I have an egg due on 2/5 that was laid at the poultry show on 1/15 in front of an audience

It is developing nicely (candled last night).

Suddenly, I'm having difficulty with my Brinsea incubator maintaining a proper humidity level. This is my third hatch using the new incubator and it will not keep it at a 43% to a 47% level. What's up?

I added water in the channels, and played with it until the rh read 45%. An hour later I checked on it again, and it's reading 39%! HELP!
I have the incubator in the same position and area as before, my thermostat is still set at 67 to heat our home. I have paid too much money for this darn thing to malfunction during this special hatch. Gimme back my broody hens! I say BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to incubators!

Its all about the water surface area. Not how much.

I was very disappointed with my delivery from Brinsea a few months ago. A few of the dividers were bent and one was broken, so I was unable to use the incubator when it was delivered. The company promptly UPS'd replacements, but again I was very disappointed and disheartened. I had Black Copper Marans waiting to cook.
Check your merchandise carefully before use, and happy hatching!

Please explain the meaning of water surface area.
