I have my first incubator coming to me hopefully within a week. An Eco 20 w/ turner. I am scared sh!#less! I'm gonna need a lot of advice!

You and me both Mame!

What are people using to candle their eggs? Any suggestions?

I am just using a good led flashlight for all my light eggs, the BCM's are so dark I think they are on their own.

I had one but It didnt get bright enough for me:-( So I had Dh make me one:) light fixture in a coffee can-with a wooden lid-hole in middle of lid to rest egg in-walah perfecto!!!

I candled one yesterday, one of the bantam eggs hanging out on the top of the stack, its growing!!! How exciting, my rows are pretty tight so I am not going to even attempt to candle anyone else until closer to lock down too afraid I won't be able to get everyone back in their place w/ out breaking eggs. I stacked mine so full because I figured odds were not everything would hatch. I had a dream last night that I checked them all at 16 days and all were growing

and then the nightmare started, not NEARLY enough room to hatch all those eggs!!!!

Good news is, it was only a dream...right? Guess only time will tell for sure.

Well I am hatching along on 2 threads. This is gonna be fun trying to keep up with everyone.
My ship eggs have not arrived: I think the bad weather is affecting some of the shipments along the eastern states. The eggs are coming from Maine; hopefully they are not stuck at the airport with all those grumpy, hungry, passengers.

Went ahead and loaded up the 8 local eggs into the Brinsea. Wow can that turner rotate it! I was not expecting that kinda tilt. Some of the water spilled out through one of the holes. I had filled both channels up. Cut a sponge in half and put it between the channels and tray. May end up using more sponges to soak up moisture versus trying to fill the channels to prevent any further spills. It is still holding steady like a good lil' bator.

Now the fun part: THE WAIT

Mrs. Fluffy Puffy :

I'm thinking about getting a 3rd incubator. What is the Brinsea incubator like? Does it work good? Good prices?

Follow this thread, I am only 4 days into incubating with my Brinsea but as of now I adore it. Only hatch will tell.

Here are the current web specials at Brinsea:

I have 3 (three) Octagon20 Advance EX units, one (1) MiniAdvance, and two (2) MiniAdvance EX units. I swear by 'em.

If you go to the Facebook page for Brinsea Incubators, and become a "friend" you can get an additional 10% off, I think.
