Calling All Old Cast Iron Lovers.......

I never checked to see what make my cast iron pans were until reading what everyone was saying on here. My 12' skillet says made in the USA but my hubby's 8' skillet says Wagners 1891 and it has the instructions for seasoning and caring for it stamped on the bottom. It wouldn't be that old since it says to season with oil and bake in a 300 degree oven for I hour. It's interesting though.

Pans marked Wagner 1891 were made in 1991 to celebrate Wagner's 100th anniversary.

So, who makes the skillets that have "Made in the USA"---I know that the Wagners, Griswolds, & Lodge all have their name on the bottom.

Wow! what a piece to own. Last Oct. when we went back to KS to see my husbands 90+ sisters (one is almost 99) the younger sister gave me the cast iron pot called a gypsy pot that belonged to their grandmother. My husband remembers it vaguely. It's a big open pot maybe 10 quarts big with a shaping that narrows it a little at the top. When I get my camera back I'll post a photo.

I have a question, I have a 7qt cast iron dutch oven, but every time i cook in it stuff sticks to bottom. it have been treated but stuff still sticks. any ideas on how to fix this. thanks, minnie

I have a cast iron rooster dinner bell ringer thingy...I just can't figure out where to put it! I also have a couple skillets and a humongous dutch oven I'm going to start using...thanks to this thread

to be honest, I never knew how to care for them.
