Calling All Old Cast Iron Lovers.......

Love my cast iron pans. There is only one company that still makes cast iron pots in the USA and that is "Lodge" It is sad all the other companies went overseas. I bought some pans from them not long ago. I hope they stay here and don't move overseas.

Used to collect only Griswold and had over 100 different pieces. Had to sell most of it when I moved to FL but kept a few of the favorites. Have a #3 small label skillet that at the time was rare and set me back over $90 but was worth every cent at the time. Best skillet for cooking a pair of eggs in. Also the deep chicken fryer and a few of the muffin pans. Great stuff and a good seasoned pan will put teflon to shame any day. Never did get the coveted Heart Star waffle maker though. One day in the future maybe......

That is a super cool muffin pan! Genius.... serious cuteness.

I found a pan I really wanted but it's so far away I can't justify buying it. I'm sad cuz it's a great deal. It is one of those stuffed/filled pancake pans. I'd love that!

In response to eastbaychicks - That is an Eibleskiver pan (spelling) and they do sell remakes of it at different department stores in their cooking/housewares section.

I have an elbeskiver pan too! I find tons of stuff like that at my local thrift shops in town. I never pass up a cast iron deal at a 2nd hand store!

I have a propane BBQ grill with cover, I've sprayed my cast iron griddle needing cleaning with oil and placed it in the BBQ and fired it up to the point of burning off the oil----worked like a charm without the smoke in the house. (Gotta keep the Missus happy)

I'm definitely keeping an eye out for some of those older ones, Griswold, Wagners.......this is my new addiction.

My old griddles don't have a name on the back, but they both have a number - 6. Even though they're a different size.

Love that Halloween one. Must go shopping..............must go shopping.............

darkmatter - what a great idea, the grill!

I use only cast iron skillets and dutch ovens.

I have several that are over 100 years old and they are wonderful.
I don't have a self cleaning oven anymore, so I use a fire outside to clean them when they need it. I have some "new" pans I found out in DH's old family log barn that I need to clean and season.
We just happen to have a large brush pile just waiting to be burned, so I will put them all in the fire and have some more great cookware!

Ok... wow... whatday think... would you pay 45$ for this pan? Seems really expensive, it is a Wagner though

Is there anyone else out there that uses olive oil on cast iron? Anyone?

I have several old cast iron griddles hanging in my barn that I inherited years ago! They are about 10-12 inches in diameter and resemble a prying pan without the sides on it. If anyone is interested, I would sell them. Of course, they need cleaned and reseasoned, but just wire brush them, stick them in the self cleaning oven and then coat with bacon grease and bake them in the oven and they will be ready to use.
