Yes great choice I have a blue orpington she a is a great layer and so sweet.just make sure to handle the chicks frequently is you want nice adults

Im planning on getting a lavender orpington or a jubilee orpington next year.

Good luck with finding a jubilee they are very rare. I don't know of where you live but where I live finding any orpington is hard. Good luck and have fun, orpingtons are great chickens, super friendly and great mothers and layers

And be prepared to pay $$. Mine was $30 as a day old chick.

Jubille orpington and lavendar orpington were for sale at a local feed store right after i bought my chicks i was really mad. I would have rather had one of those colors but i have a sweet little buff orpington.
