Yes it is possibleEverything I have read on drakes is that they have the tell tell curly feathers at the end if the tail , mine bigger pekin does not have the curly feathers. My question is ....is it possible for a drake to never have said drake feathers at all, and sound very close to the female he is raised with??
Right! And if you want to come to Virginia, I know where you can pick your favorite out of about 20 ducks!I believe two females too but if you want a drake go on Craig’s list I bet you can find 1 or 10
are they yours?? What is the process for introducing a new duck to my current 2? Is it about the same as you do with chickens? Next spring i do plan to get at least 2 more. i just LOVE watching them!! I got my 2 girls from tractor supply and they had very few browns and the day I went to get a pair they were sold out until now and I prefer not to start babies this late. Spring works best for me.Also, if you know, If I add a male now and get 2 babies next year and one happens to be a drake how well do 2 drakes do together with females also? My experience(until the 2 ducks now) has been with chickens and roosters and I know there can only be one rooster in the same lot, does the same go for ducks or are they fine if there are enough females?Right! did he sound different? A woman up the load has a single male duck(poor baby) i know he is lonely, and he has a very quiet raspy voice and the curled tale feather. I stopped and left a note but never got a call. I was going to see if they would mind me re homing him since he is all alone and every time i go by the house he is always sitting on the porch at the front door and the owners are NEVER home! I know they do best with other ducks and much like chickens if they live alone they actually can get lonely and sad.I have had a Drake never end up getting The curled tail feather. However I do believe in you case you have two females![]()
