Calling all Penedesencas Owners/Breeders

Is she a wheaten?
It's a partridge. It has little tufts of chest feathers growing in that are the brown/black partridge, not solid-colored if that makes any difference (sorry for my terrible explanations, I am new to chickens in general if that is not obvious

Partridge Penedesencas are 80% sexable by color:

Partridge Penedesenca chicks: The light chicks are generally males and the darker ones or more striped ones females -- this works about 80% of the time; note the dark blotches on the heads of the darker females

I did read that on Feathersite.. My guess based on color would be male, but I suppose I am hanging on to that 20% chance it might not be :) but thanks for the info!

It is tough when you only have one.

Does the chick have a nice chop monk pattern?

In the next couple weeks the comb will get crazy big if it's a boy. Post another pic in about 3 more weeks and we can probably speculate with some degree of certainty.

It looks on the lighter side to me. It is a friendly little thing! I can't keep roosters, if I need to rehome it I'd like to do it before the weather gets really cold.

The coloring does look a lot like a boy. I hatched a Quad recently and the boy popped the comb up at three weeks. There is hope for you until the Comb and wattles get big and red.

My Wheaten and Partridge Penes are getting close to POL.

Wheaten with an HRIR Pullet:

Look at the base of the comb(click on the picture to make it bigger) You can see the coronation comb:

The Partridge Penes:

This one is redder:
