Calling all Penedesencas Owners/Breeders

So what do you think of our new "partridge penedesenca"? I have named it Woody Nickel aka "Niki"... not sure if it is cockerel or pullet... guess it doesn't matter.
I would say they are at best a mix.

My guess it that the breeder did not wait 30 days after switching roosters to collect your the hatching eggs. Some feathered breed is at his place and he is the cock bird that sired these chicks.

Did you contact the Seller and ask for a refund?

The feathered legs are a problem to me. Penes don't have feathered legs.
Deviant feathers are an ongoing problem. I raise only blacks but occasionally get a chipmunk in a hatch. The chipmunks grow up to have a lot of copper feathers. Don't have experience with your varieties.

I can handle eggs not hatching especially if they were packaged really well (and these were) but I don't want to spend money or see others buying mutts. So I am going to give the guy a week to respond before opening a case "My item did not match the seller's description".

This is the ad Karakms528 had on Ebay:

"6+ hatching eggs from our small flock of partridge penedesenca
Not from a hatchery, nice large birds laying large to sometimes extra large dark brown eggs. The eggs you recieve may not be as dark as the egg in the picture because they do not always lay the darkest eggs everyday.Usually lay the darkest at the start of their cycle and fade to lighter color before starting the cycle again. All of our hens lay very dark brown eggs almost as dark as our marans.

If possible 2 or 3 eggs are sent with every auction.

Expect to hatch lively, healthy chicks from these eggs. Eggs are never washed, kept cool and hand turned daily. Our birds are kept separate by the breed in their own large run pens but are let our to free range almost daily on rotation. Natural feed and raising methods only for the best health, fertility and quality.
We ship USPS priority mail Monday and Tuesday to assure your eggs are not stuck at the post office Saturday or Sunday. If you would like more pictures or a different ship date contact me. Eggs sent are our freshest usually 2 days old, never more than 3 and are individually bubble wrapped, double boxed with two labels FRAGILE DO NOT DROP to prevent breakage and provide cushioning.
We can combine shipping at half the shipping cost of each additional auction won.
Please check our other auctions. thank you"

I sent Matt a letter on the 13th and hope to get a positive response by the 20th.

So gentleman and lady penedesenca breeders do you think I have a case that the above pictured bird is not a partridge penedesenca? I am considering opening a case on Ebay since I haven't heard back from the egg seller about my concerns with it's feathered feet or coloring. The partridge pene chicks I've had before were kind of chipmunk colored, like a Welsummer. Has anyone had partridge penes that looked like mine that grew up to look fine?
that is not a penedesenca chick

Jeff if you pay the shipping I will send you some black and crele penedesenca eggs plus white empordanesa. Would just be 4-6 of each probably . I can also throw in a few U of A blue x white empordanesa olive eggers

That is very generous offer, thank you very much. There are no breeders of those varieties of penedesenca anywhere nearby. Please pm me on how you want to do this. I can do paypal or check.
