Maybe he doesn't like the brand of hay you're feeding him? Have you tried giving him something else?Does anyone else have a picky eater? Hazel still isn't eating hay, even though I cut back on the greens and pellets. He does eat SOME but mostly started chewing on other things he shouldn't... Like the window trim.He won't eat things I thought he would like zucchini, bell peppers, marigolds. He pretty much sticks to greens. He does like apples and a small carrot ON OCCASION.
I bought the Kaytee brand when we first got him and he ate it just fine. Then I switched to Dumor brand and he wouldn't eat it. I switched back to Kaytee and he picks at it ONLY when I refuse to give him anything else. I feel bad because he scarfs down the pellets like he's starving to death so I know he's hungry.... I just don't understand why he is refusing the hay.Maybe he doesn't like the brand of hay you're feeding him? Have you tried giving him something else?
Maybe you could try some Oxbow hay? You could also try this one: https://www.chewy.com/brytin-1st-cutting-all-natural/dp/263127I bought the Kaytee brand when we first got him and he ate it just fine. I get that for my rabbits and they really love it.
What kind of hay is it? Not the brand, but the blend. Is it orchard grass, timothy, alfalfa?I bought the Kaytee brand when we first got him and he ate it just fine. I ordered the hay from Chewy that someone recommended. I figured it was worth a try... If that doesn't work, I can switch to orchard grass. The good thing is that anything he won't eat, the goats will....Alfalfa should be given as a treat. So not all the time. Try orchard grass and see if he likes it.
