Calling All Rabbit Nutters

This wood like toy in my hand...he kills them.

I find that he has serious ADD issues. He gets bored with toys quickly.
I rotate them every few days so he thinks he had new.

I almost bought the sticks on the right today but changed my mind quickly.View attachment 2934994
You gave me an idea....I can take some small sticks and some sisal to hand-make a "tube" to put alfalfa in....kind of like you have in the picture above.

Do you find that your buns likes certain woods over others? I have dogwood trees....oak trees....pine....alder.....apple...... Any of those might work? I also have wisteria vines.

umm... Wood is wood as far as I know.
I don't know different types of wood but I can tell you he prefers wood I find out side over wood I buy at the store.

I've taken a lot of pictures of the different rabbit toys you can buy at the stores to get ideas to make my own toys.
I just haven't really made any toys yet.

He has some pumice stone thing that he's chewed on twice since I've had him.
And some of the rabbit toys that I buy have loofah-like parts on them.

All woods are different. He probably prefers the picked up sticks over the bought sticks because they haven't been sterilized.

I would avoid willow because willow is what they use to make aspirin.

This one's on sale. I have not tried one yet but I might go pick one up.

It's probably going to be a waste of money though because you see those two dangly strings of toys...
He mostly just choose the rope to separate each piece and then never touches those pieces again.

He really likes to chew rope.

Apple wood tends to be a huge hit with buns. My rabbit will methodically strip the bark from larger branches and the eat small twigs faster than a chipper shredder.

ETA: Pine branches and wisteria are best avoided because of oils and other compounds they contain. But pine cones are a popular toy with some rabbits.

Christmas hay tube... That's what I'm calling this toy that I just made.

I just cut a piece of this wrapping paper rolled up tube stuff off and filled it with hay and tight it tight with the string.
I'm pretty sure he'll have the string chewed off within the hour.

I didnt get a picture, but “somebody” has been coming into the house a little bit and today decided to “fix” the lights on the tree. Thankfully it wasnt plugged in. He was hiding under it and stood up peeking at me and I didnt get the picture ☹️

Thanks a lot Keeks 🙄

Just kidding 🥰. I bring him in once in a while because hes just too cute and snuggly. Even though he is terrified of me. I blame the antibiotics. Bunnies never forget. :bun
