Do you have to pre-drill holes for every effing screw?

If you are putting the screw into something that is likely to split such as near the end of a board or into the edge of plywood, the answer is yes.

Today I learned that Niven is even more devious than I give her credit for. Yesterday I spent hours cleaning her crate and other hangout spots. This morning I walk into the kitchen and see that overnight she made a big pile of poo in the dead center of her freshly cleaned cage. Annoying but unsurprising TBH. BUT when I came back into the kitchen a few minutes later SHE HAD COVERED THE CRIME WITH CLEAN BEDDING.

A little worried for my husband now. He has to single parent the little gremlin for the next six weeks and I don't think he has any idea about how cunning she can be
