Calling All Rabbit Nutters

Hey guys... I need some help. This morning when I went to feed Hazel, he showed zero interest in his food bowl. I thought that was odd so I went looking for him. He has access to the entire sunroom where his cage is located. I found him hiding out under the cat tree. His eyes were half closed. I poked at him and instead of taking off to hide in another spot like he normally would, he just flopped over and turned his back to me instead. He didn't like me pulling him out or picking him up but he isn't fighting me like normal. I opened his treat bag and he shows zero interest.

Other than going through a major shed at the moment, I don't see anything physically wrong with him. His ears felt cold when I first picked him up and now they are warm.

Any suggestions on what else to look for? He does seem to be panting a little?

Poor thing. Hopefully he is just faking it.
Can you keep a close eye on him to see if he is pooping?

I locked him in his cage so I can check on him frequently. I'm going to dump his litter box so I can more easily see what his waste looks like. There's also a new vet just up the road. I might check to see if they see small animals. My normal vet only sees cats and dogs. I haven't taken Hazel to the vet except for the day we found him (he was dumped). That vet is quite a ways from me but I'd go if it is my only choice.

Treb has only faked like he was dying one time so far.
He snapped out of it before the end of the day and if I remember correctly he was shedding at the time.

Watch to see if he's pooping please and report back in a few hours.

I would also measure out exact amounts of some food and keep an eye to see if he's eating.

Thanks Kiki... I can't remember if he acted this way the last time he was shedding. I might have to research that a little.

I give him fresh food in the mornings and a little scoop of pellets in the evenings. His food bowl still has pellets so he clearly didn't eat last night either. I also marked his water bottle so I can see if he is drinking. I'm sure a vet will ask if I need to take him. I did check his bottom and it's clean so no diarrhea or anything like that. Nothing that looks obvious other than the lethargy, lack of appetite, and massive shedding.

I don't think he is going to like being confined to his cage. Poor fella...

Read this about molting - https://rabbits.world/en/2018/05/08/rabbits-molting-behavior-take-care-danger/

Now I'm kinda worried that he's not eating. If he doesn't poop or pee by 1 pm, I'm calling the vet.

I did read that rabbits may not want socialization when molting and can tend to avoid you. Hazel doesn't usually like to be picked up or held. If you put him in your lap, he tries to get down. But this morning when I sat with him in my lap, he just buried his head in my arm while I gently petted him. He clearly doesn't feel well... He loves pets though but usually prefers them from the ground or somewhere he can choose to hop away when he doesn't want them anymore.

He still hasn't eaten or drank anything. Just laying in his (clean) litter box. No pee or poop.

I went ahead and made an appointment with the vet at 3 pm today. They have agreed to take a look at him but I got the feeling that they don't normally see small animals. They did ask what was wrong so they know it could be a blockage.
