She needs one of these!DH and I have been trying to do better about having a sit down breakfast at home every morning. Niven highly approves of this development…as long as she gets to eat some breakfast with us![]()
Poor thing. Hopefully he is just faking it.Hey guys... I need some help. This morning when I went to feed Hazel, he showed zero interest in his food bowl. I thought that was odd so I went looking for him. He has access to the entire sunroom where his cage is located. I found him hiding out under the cat tree. His eyes were half closed. I poked at him and instead of taking off to hide in another spot like he normally would, he just flopped over and turned his back to me instead. He didn't like me pulling him out or picking him up but he isn't fighting me like normal. I opened his treat bag and he shows zero interest.
Other than going through a major shed at the moment, I don't see anything physically wrong with him. His ears felt cold when I first picked him up and now they are warm.
Any suggestions on what else to look for? He does seem to be panting a little?
I locked him in his cage so I can check on him frequently. I'm going to dump his litter box so I can more easily see what his waste looks like. There's also a new vet just up the road. I might check to see if they see small animals. My normal vet only sees cats and dogs. I haven't taken Hazel to the vet except for the day we found him (he was dumped). That vet is quite a ways from me but I'd go if it is my only choice.Poor thing. Hopefully he is just faking it.
Can you keep a close eye on him to see if he is pooping?
Treb has only faked like he was dying one time so far.I locked him in his cage so I can check on him frequently. I'm going to dump his litter box so I can more easily see what his waste looks like. Thanks Kiki... I can't remember if he acted this way the last time he was shedding. I might have to research that a little.Treb has only faked like he was dying one time so far.
He snapped out of it before the end of the day and if I remember correctly he was shedding at the time.
Watch to see if he's pooping please and report back in a few hours.
I would also measure out exact amounts of some food and keep an eye to see if he's eating.
