I also had a Serama hen go broody. I had kinda given up hope for any more natural Serama chicks this year after the other 3 hens hatched 2 and they both died. She has 3 eggs currently but I will give her more. Hope she does a good job

oh man....they're doing the thing where they're counting how many more threads to go. It always makes me too nervous. I don't like how it's in Pacific time. I did the math and my time is 5:00 pm ET.
i think the best thing to do is just stay off BYC till it's over cuz this is giving me gray hairs

I know, I completely messed up with the pacific time. We can start a bunch of threads?

Also to encourage broodiness, make sure they have a dark comfortable spot to sit and have privacy, and you could give her some golf balls or rocks to.sit on

Ill need to put a cover over the nesting box so it darkens it up. But i have 3 fake eggs(i thought i had 4) and then some ping pong balls. Im just afraid of having her in there with babies and the other chickens picking on them. Or do you move them once they are babies?

I move mine once they start hatching. All of the chickens are really nice to the little ones, but it's more of a safety thing so they don't get crushed.

Im only worried about 1 chicken as she thinks she is the queen of the coop and is mean to all the chickens. Although i put her in jail for a week and havent seen any fighting.

Ive never had one completely committed to brooding. Thats why i really want one to. I just dont want the mean chicken to she is such a brat.

She is though litterally she has to do everything first and has to try the food first. Bosses all the chickens around and then is mean towards me. So she is a brat

Pacific time doesn't really mess me up...I've never really done any time in pacific and I've won like 3 of those contests.

Tip: Math it! Keep track of how many members join every 24 hours, add those numbers up and get the average of them. Then ya know, you subtract the member count goal and the current members, then divide using the average members a day!
