Calling all teenagers

I've been pretty lucky to have really good broodies. They'll let me take the eggs from under them and pick up their babies. I had to take one of them off the nest today though cause she hasn't been off for a couple. I'll have to keep a closer eye on her.

About half of my broodies are nice and some peck me. (It's usually the nice ones that get chicks)

I tracked it myself for a week and then told myself I wasn't gonna change it no matter what. I was pretty close, so I'm glad about that!

i was gonna track it but was too lazy. I got 5th in the last one

All the girls that have gone broody are so sweet. The coop didn't used to have any nesting boxes so they laid in the coop corner but as I've been telling people, I just renovated it with 9 new roomy nesting boxes. I'm hoping some will go broody so we'll have a next generation! The last attempt at hatching eggs did NOT go well!

oh man....they're doing the thing where they're counting how many more threads to go. It always makes me too nervous. I don't like how it's in Pacific time. I did the math and my time is 5:00 pm ET.
i think the best thing to do is just stay off BYC till it's over cuz this is giving me gray hairs

I know people are pining for broodies but I find them so innoying. I have like 8 broodies
The 2 clutches of eggs are on day 15 now but only because there are so many chickens wanting to sit that it's impossible for the eggs to go very long without being sat on.

Ive never had one completely committed to brooding. Thats why i really want one to. I just dont want the mean chicken to she is such a brat.
