calling any one from missouri

I picked up 4 packages of bees today in Independence. The cold front was roaring in. I was hoping I would make it to our house before it hit here. We got out by the hives, in bee suits, just ready to open the boxes and dump the bees in and the wind just blasts in. I have never installed bees so fast in my life. I could have tried to keep the boxes in the basement until it gets warm again but, I think a good number of them would have died by then.
I'm still waiting to here when my delivery date is. This will be my first time with bees!!

I hope your tomato plants made it!! All of mine are gone.

Yea, mine are still doing fine. On cold nights they get tucked in their blankets with a warming lamp then covered with a tarp. They are out growing the blankets so the cold better end soon.

I have some in the window that are 3' tall and spindly if I don't get them in the ground soon I'll have to cut them in half and start new plants from the tops.

Looks like another cold night tonight, forecast here is 36°F then gradually warming.

12 days till the chicks ship...
