calling any one from missouri

I wasn't sure about the strawberry plants, so I v=covered them just to be safe! They had just started coming up from the root crowns I got from Stark Brother's earlier in the month ( or the end of March).
I got raspberry canes from Stark Brother's as well! I got mine about 3 weeks ago. I got 6 and they are all doing well! ( Well, I didn't actually check them today, so I hope they did okay last night).

This morning 3 of my Cherokee Purple tomato plants were dead and a two more don't look well at least 1 still looks OK. ☹ I guess it got too cold for them before we got back from our ride. I planted them on 3-24. Well that was a learning experience for sure. Planted 6 more seeds in some seed starter... I really need to develop a planting calendar for seed starting indoors.

And the cherry and Big Boy tomatoes are doing well in the raised beds tucked in their blanket with a 100 watt light bulb then covered with a tarp did the trick. Looks like a few more nights under 50°F so they will get the tarp only.

I counted 15 cherry tomatoes and 3 Big Boy tomatoes today. I hope the cherry get a bit bigger than the ones I got during the winter...

Hmm only one night with less that 50°F low this week...

Last Cherokee Purple died today... I gotta watch the temps better.

Went to a wholesale nursery that also sells to anyone that shows up and the owner said they have sold 50,000 tomato plants and he is on the third setting ( I assume that means starting of plants in nursery lingo).

Well, I said I was going to wait until May 1st to replant my tomato and pepper plants but then I went to the produce stand and they had a huge selection of veggie plants ( and flowers too). There were a lot of people there shopping. That made me think they were going to buy all the good ones and I would only be able to find poor specimens when I decided to plant so I went a head and bought mine today! :lau I'm sure they probably would have gotten more in and I would have had a great selection still if I waited, but....
I came home and planted all of the flowers and most of the tomatoes and green peppers. Some how I managed to buy too many tomato and pepper plants again. I think it's like fixing your plate when you are hungry and there are a lot of things you like. You over fill your plate. :lau
I'll either figure out somewhere else to plant them as well or I will offer them to a friend of mine.
We got some rain this evening and have rain predicted for the next 3 days.
