Thanks for the great welcome.
We're moving from Ft Worth, Tx.
Actually, my fiance and his mother are from Missouri.
So, we're moving there so that I can get some land (and away from our neighbors here, LOL)
and they can be back where they liked it. His mom is 75 and had a few health issues
here in Texas, so she is moving in with us in Mo.
We don't have any school age kids. I have 1 daughter that is out on her own now.

Who the heck turned the heat on???? One minute it is coat weather and now, I'm sweating like a stuck hog... (well actually I'm sweating and hogs don't but you know what I mean...)

I like the nice breeze though... hope all had a Happy Mom's Day.

I understand about the weather. I was in a jacket yesterday,
pretty much waiting for it to rain, and today I got sunburned.
But actually had fun. Went to the opening of a little Mexican
restaurant here. They had a classic car show, my fiance and
his band played for 4 hours. I got tons of cool car pics.

Hello!

I'm a new resident of Missouri. We moved here from Omaha, NE almost 2 months ago. We live in the SW part of the state, way out in the country about 20-30 min from Branson. We bought 5 acres with a beautiful view of the Ozark Mountains. Last year around this time, out of the blue we decided we were tired of the city life and wanted to move to the country. My husband's uncle who lives near us said that we took that a little too literally. haha! I love it, though, and wouldn't go back for anything. We have 7 new chicks, 2 Australian Shepherd puppies (who are doing awesome with the chickens), and 3 indoor cats. We also have a 12 year old son, who loves it here also and is doing so great. He no longer sits all day playing video games. He's outside doing what kids should be doing. The only time those video games come out is during the 40 min drive to the store.

Moved to SWMO last fall. We're between Joplin and Springfield, about 10 mins from I44. Just got our first chicks in March. 13 Barred Rock. I've been wanting chickens for a couple of years, so I'm very excited!!
