Those don't count! Lol!!!

Yes canoe might be best! I think I'll postpone just because we have a 10 soccer game Sat. Thought it was earlier! 2 maybe 3 weeks left (darn rain keeps making games get cancelled!). I'll get with you soon about a visit!!

I am so nervous about these eggs I've got in the bator!! Serious money here...! Man if I don't get at least 50% hatch i will be hard pressed to buy eggs via mail again! (Is that a little exteme?? And a lie????). Lol!

My gunieas laying in the besting boxes just fine but I also only hace hens. My Roos do get frisky with them though! Thought about hatching some but not sure i really want a guniea/chicken cross... Anyone else done that? I've heard someone was intentionally doing it but never heard anything on the results.

I believe that State of Kentucky is doing it. They say they are the mules of the bird family, as they are hatched sterile. They say the meat is like having a completely dark meat chicken. They call the females guinhens and the males guins. They say most are pretty scary looking birds....lol

Ok so now my thermometers are going to go wacky. I have 2 in each bator. In my Polish bator the one at the bottom is reading higher than the one on top my eggs. I cant figure out which one is wrong!!!! This is going to be a crazy day!
Heading to town for new thermometer

smash up ice and swish in water - it's how thermometers are calibrated.
Quick way to see which one might be right.
Sorry you are having such a horrible time.

Oh, and golf balls do help birds to choose a nest. They even make ceramic eggs as nest bait.
Birds less likely to go broody without a nestfull of eggs to inspire them. Mark a half dozen eggs you can afford to toss and leave them in a favored nest to see if anyone is willing to get in the mood. Can pull unmarked eggs or date new ones. Countdown starts when she hunkers down and rarely leaves the nest. Chickens can't count so if you swap eggs and she has to sit longer before hatching starts she won't know. Keep in mind, sometimes new broodies "break nest" and loose interest. Having babies within sight seems to inspire broodiness. Avalanche effect.
