Hi Everyone! I live in Salisbury, Missouri. I am new to chickens but have always wanted some and I am amazed and how much I enjoy them. I have got my daughter hooked on them too. It was inevitable, they are such charming creatures. I have already been a victim of chicken math and looking for more! I started out with 4 went up to 16, found homes for two roos so now of course we need to replace those, right?

We have been trying to hatch eggs we have bought off eBay because my daughter would really like some BLR and GL Wyandottes. Unfortunately we are having miserable luck though. We are on our 3rd round of incubation and still not one has hatched. Out of 4 dozen eggs only a few started to develop and then quit. The insides of most of them were just scrambled.

If you all know anyone that has BLR or GL Wyandotte chicks or hatching eggs that we could pick up and avoid USPS please let me know. I don't mind driving a few hours.

Hiyas and welcome.

Trying to hatched shipped eggs can be frustrating.
Have u had luck practicing on your own or local eggs?

Welcome!

I feel you on the shipped eggs. Our first hatch we set 34 eggs from several breeds, only ended up with one chick. got 3 chicks from 13 on local eggs, but 3 more made it all the way, just malpositioned. Trying shipped again right now, and will be picking up more, hoping for better all around. Good luck with your future hatches! PS, I'm also a new chicken owner and in love. Started with 7, up to 14 plus what's in the bator! Dang chicken math.....seems stronger in MO somehow.

Dunno if they are getting this rain where the fair is - KC isn't I guess.
We've had over 2 feet of rain since Sunday and sounds like more rolling in again!
Enough all ready!!

Fine where I'm at but the road into town has been underwater for days, rivers have closed I44 in a couple places.

Nicole - that coop still on the roof is getting a heck of a rinsing off!

Eden, they do say more is coming your way, my Grandparents are in Eldon, and they've had literally 20 inches in the last 10 days.......guess we all asked to hard for rain last year, but at least all the roofs are clean.
