I'm not alone here in central MO
Aw shucks! Wish I'd known about that, I could have had you get a couple for me because I think I want to stick with EEs only (oh well, I can save my money that way - Jan. bills sucked my paycheck all up

).

Son also wants silkies and one of his d'uccle's died this morning (I opened up the coop door and she was just laying there. I wasn't home last night, kids had to close them up, so I didn't see if she acted odd the night before, so I'm hoping I don't have something wrong with the flock but everyone else seems OK. Unfortunately I'm also gone this weekend so I won't see their behavior.) I'm thinking we might have space for them but it'll be a little crowded since I ought to have 3 silkies minimum.

Chicken Keeper to Hens: 2 RI Reds, 4 Red Stars, 3 Barred Rock, 1 white Easter Egger, & an Easter Egger roo
The boys claim the 1 Old English Game hen, & 1 d'Uccles, a self-blue pullet and a porcelain roo (DS1)
and 5 pullets & 1 cockerel all porcelain (DS2)
If you need any of your eggs hatched let me know,I have several incubators and one is a brand new Genesis I have not got to try yet :) I had ordered the bator a few days before we got the bad storm last week and the majority of my flock got wiped out from hail including my beloved roo. I only have 3 EE girls and 4 BO girls left, so redoing adding a new flock of EE's and the roos will be EE's as well. If all goes well I will be hatching EE babies next spring :)

Did you know we have a great Avian Vet in our area that treats chickens and does a mighty fine job of it.....Linda at Westside

wow now that does seem complicated, but I still might check it out lol
Its not really Just sounds hard. the way i explain it LOL..
I thought so too at first but once you do it its easy.and really you wont lose your 7 weekly bids if you offer money $16-17 paypal at the end of all your list of eggs offered so( if nobody wants your eggs ) then ppl always want money.!... so you dont get bogged down OR you can roll it back too ..
So far i just offred paypal.... keep it simple

I have EE offspring from Cackle EE's. I had a friend who had them 3 years ago and they were so amazing that I hatched some of her eggs. SHe is no longer keeping chickens or I would have just got EE eggs from her again. Cackle's BO are extremely nice girls they are weighing about 9-10lbs and do go broody, when they aren't the lay very well. I have just become so partial to the EE's I love their size and looks and most of all the personaities.

I got 3 EE's from cackle to go with a country bred blue egg roo. Not bad looking at all I don't think. Actually, I think Cackle has very nice birds for a hatchery and thier stock pulls ribbons in shows.

Mixed eggs. The EE eggs from them run light olive to blue-green. They're laying about 5-6 a week each. Should put in CCM and something else to produce some OE's - providing the boy throws blue as I was told.
I've got a bunch of muscovies and no bator so I'm going to wait for the ducks to go broody and let them foster.
Such good moms I've heard.
