What breed of turkey? Mine are all heritage breeds and this is thier first year laying. The first nested at the base of a tree with good bramble cover around. The second has finially gotten seriously broody in a 50 gal barrel. You can pick up metal or plastic drums - cut a half moon out so they can pop over the top but keep the babies in (and the dern dogs out). If you find eggs here and there with only one hen, collect them up in the spot you want her to nest. Seems like it takes them a bit for the drill to make sense to them and then they get serious about hunkering down.
Yep, selling eating eggs, hatching eggs, babies and some adults (mostly fall culling and males for meat). Some of my egg customers are wanting to reserve TG dinners. Any birds are sold on the hoof - otherwise can run afoul of FDA laws. Being so close to the base there's a better market for organic/naturally produced and more "exotic" foods like duck, goat and such.
