But nonthing like what has been done to you. I sure hope they don't hurt any more of you animals

You can't imagine how angry I am at my cat right now. Remember those wild turkeys and their poults I mentioned? Guess what I found half-eaten on my porch this morning.

What's worse is that if I had been sitting outside I could have taken it away from him and saved it because that's where he usually kills his food.

Well, about the only thing I can do is take away a certain feline's privilege of going outside in the mornings and keep an eye on the porch throughout the day when I can. I am never having an outdoor cat ever again.

I feel for everyone who is having losses due to predators of any kind (neighbors included)!!! I have lost a few chicks the last few weeks too... Assuming hawks.
Glad the weather is cooler this week!

As far as traps my husband wants to wire the door knob so people get shocked if they touch it. I won't let him do it because I know these are the type of people that would sue us because they got injured on our property so we are setting up wild life cameras in and outside the barn to see if we can catch them that way. We were informed by another neighbor that the neighbors that are taking stuff do this every year. it only happens in the summer time because they live else where during winter. It is just so frustrating that people would do this because we have enough issues with other predators we don't need people messing with our income and food source. I guess we are just going to put padlocks on everything to make sure that we get all of our eggs. We think that was what they were after and they just forgot to close the door. Just sad that people damage things like that. As far as the dogs go I think they kill them so they don't have to worry about getting bit. We were hesitant about getting dogs again because we didn't want them getting hurt but when nothing happened for a few months we figured the people that had harmed our dogs had moved so we thought we would try it again. I guess we know better now.

Well our neighbors are at it again. Last year we started having strange things happen in our barn with out rabbits. Rabbits we had not bred would some how get bred even though they were no where near a male and cage doors would be open even though we were sure we closed them. Within the last several weeks we have had gas disappear from our vehicles last week our dog came up missing and then returned a few days later half shaved down to the skin and now she has an infection on her skin. And to top it off three days ago one of our Coturnix Quail cage doors were open and all 8 Quail were out of the cage. We were able to find 1 male and 2 females but we noticed since we have started locking the barn door our egg production have almost doubled even though we are down 5 Quail. We found out from another neighbor that there are people that are seasonal residents here and they just moved back about a month ago. I guess it is time to put the cameras back up again. They killed our two dogs last year so they could come onto the property I don't plan on letting them do it again.
Good luck to you. I'm so glad I have mostly benign neighbors.
Let us know how things work out.

Bless you. I haven't been able to wrap my head around the number of people that don't like predators but bring in an invasive species of predator and give it carte blanche.
The admiration of cats is worldwide.
I admire them too, but they're HOUSEcats.

They're oh-so cute and cuddly so all the mass-murdering they do is easily excused, sadly. He does have to go outside eventually or I end up with pee all over the house.

This is exactly why ALL my neighbors know I carry a gun...lol Seriously, we have 175 acres, and I dont even go for a walk without a gun on my hip. I certainly dont check cows without it.
