calling any one from missouri

Luther, there are some urban farmers with goats in the city per one of the men I work with. Not sure how the zoning goes on that --used to have goats out in the country. I had to move my coop plans to make sure that it was 50 feet from a neighbor. She didn't care but in her 90's with health issues so needed to make sure it was within code here in Independence for future residents. Have a friend who will take my chick who turned into a roo as we cannot have roos.

Maybe if you reassure the neighbor that you wont have crowing roosters (like my noisy boy) and offer them some free eggs once your chicks are producing. Just thinking.

Some neighbors complain just for the sake of complaining. But, then again rules are rules and IMHO it's better to abide by them and save yourself possible future heartache.

When I lived in the state of California I was in an area that didn't allow poultry of any kind. Well, I had a very large yard and thought it wouldn't be an issue. I bought a duckling at Easter time. When she was just a couple of weeks old my big dog stepped on her toe and she had it splinted. This mean months of recuperation time in the house. She was super spoiled and thought she was just one of the dogs. She snuggled right with them on the living room floor.

When I started making her go outside in the morning when I'd leave for work (4:30am), I guess she would quack her head off. The neighbor complained and code enforcement said she had to go. I was heartbroken. I balled my eyes out pleading with the neighbor not to push it and I'd keep her inside, but that didn't work.

Did you all experience the state-wide tornado drill? Have to go to a shelter? Interesting NWS radio report....listing every single county, dire threats, etc. Luckily they said "this is a test" every few seconds....

Born and raised in MO. Defected to Indiana for 12 years, and came back to paradise five years ago. I live in a little town called Laurie, on the west side of the Lake of the Ozarks. No place I'd rather be on this earth...

We finally found a condo for rent on the lake and looking forward to going to Tuckers Shucker's. Any other good places to eat and or visit while we are up there?

No, I heard they were going to have one and a siren test in town, but we don't hear it from here. Just the usual weather radio test, but I was out i the coop when that took place.

It's snowing here. They said possible flurries tonight, but wouldn't stick. Well, we've been having some pretty good flurries off and on all day and then it quickly melts. At times it looked like a blizzard with the wind. This is what it looks like right now.

Well first, I would skip Tucker's Shuckers. They are a bit high priced for what you get, in my opinion.

If you like fish, go up 54 toward Eldon to a place called Camp Bagnell - best catfish around unless you catch one of the Baptist Churches having a fish fry! I have always been partial to Bandana's, but they are a chain/franchise place so not particularly special for being at the lake. Wobbly Boots is GREAT as well - they are on OB Parkway between the Grand Glaize Bridge and Dierberg's. If you ever come over to the west side of the lake (across the toll bridge) there is a place called Cannon Smoked that is really good and they have a great rib special on Tuesdays.
For Mexican I would recommend Sergios (by Wood's at the corner of Bagnell Dam Blvd and Horseshoe Bend) though if you want to go to Camdenton El Caparel is also very good.
For Italian we like Lil Rizzo's - of course there aren't a lot of Italian option 'round here.

Have fun! Good eatin!
