On the news, they are reporting bird flu at a turkey farm in Jasper County....(the county south of ours)

I'm north of you all, haven't seen robins yet but I leave in the dark and often this time of year get home in the dark. they may be here. It migration time so bird flu is scary. Mine are isolated at the moment as no run built. Hope that crap does not spread.

What they said this morning on the news is the 'low pathogenic' refers to bird to human transmission, nothing about other poultry. Apparently they are allowing the birds to go to market. So I don't know. We'll see if they cancel the Joplin poultry swap.....

Everyone enjoy tomorrow I'm hoping I can let the chickens out in the yard again tomorrow. I am dog sitting for the grand and great grand dogs for a few days. So I have an old lady medium sized mutt and a 9 month mastiff/American bull dog mix along with my insane 2. Hope for a nice steady rain on Sunday, unlike many of you we need rain very badly.

Looking forward to the warm spell late next week as I have a 4 day weekend. Hoping my neck eases up so I can work on my yard and get a bed of greens started, a new asparagus bed planted and start some potatoes and sweet potatoes. Would work on the coop but getting the yard and gardens in are timing sensitive.

Trying to figure out how to scrounge the materials and where to start a small hugel **** garden, blank on the whole name.
