Well I didn't know until they started crowing....lol. The ones w the white crests are the males and the black crests are females, tho this isn't a rule of thumb. The boys are a lot bigger.

Do the waddles give it away? Looking at the group photo I see two with pretty big waddles, one with a smaller waddles and two with no waddles.

Right, there are 3 roosters! This probably isn't going to work. Even if all the 7 older hens accept them.

Also the roosters are developing a comb type thing that looks like horns! Here's a close up,

That guy from Arkansas, Allen Smith, who has a PBS show, Garden Home, did an episode on heritage poultry. He interviewed a Spitzhauben breeder. In this screenshot, it's a white crested hen he's holding....also the lady says the roosters aren't aggressive. Someone on the Spitzhauben thread said the same....

I just checked and Dish Network does not carry the show... but WSIU carries it and I get that on my dish. I'll have to look for the show.

We just have an antenna here, the same old TV antenna that has been on the roof for decades.. Ozarks Public Television, which carries that program, says their Springfield broadcast tower collapsed this month, so I guess we are getting it from Joplin, which also broadcasts OPT programs.
