Took another peek in the Carolina Wren nest and there are at least 2 tiny birds in there with HUGE mouths! I need to put something a bit taller in there to stand on so I can see all the way in the nest.

J T. . . make sure you know the mama bird ain't in there first before you go to peek. I'd hate for ya to lose an eye!!

I can see the momma wren clearly as she stays a bit to the front when she is in there. I also have my reading glasses on lol for protection from the HUGE mouths that open up when I shine the flashlight in...

Don’t be too jealous... I just had a look and I’m guessing the bugs are gonna get at most of them... which just means I’ll throw them to the chickens, so be jealous of the chickens I guess, lol

We have four trees that were all volunteers... the biggest I need to prune back this winter... maybe I’ll treat for bugs one of these years... maybe not...

Mine too! Well actually the entire fish doesn't even reach where I live.
But my surprise lilies are leaning like yours are.

Here, I’ll share mine with you ... they’re still upright so far... that fish didn’t amount to much for us today... just light rain... maybe 1/2” I doubt it though ( forgot to look at the rain reader earlier)

Both of our wren nests this year, were 3 for 4 on hatched vs eggs

The first batch we named winkin, blinkin and nod

The second batch were Larry, Darryl and other brother Darryl

You gotta name yours now!

I knew a gal once that dated a guy that really did lose his eye as a kid peeking into a birds nest. keep them readers on!
And. . my mom got attacked at my house this summer by one of our ninja wrens that nested in a bluebird house out by the duck palace.
Too funny. It never bothered me guess it was a stranger danger thing.

And. . my mom got attacked at my house this summer by one of our ninja wrens that nested in a bluebird house out by the duck palace.

I was holding my brother up on my shoulders when we were kids to look in a bird house and a flying squirrel ... well ... it came flying out !

We ended up in a pile on the ground... and that’s when we first learned what a flying squirrel was, lol
