calling any one from missouri

I ordered mine in the middle of March and Cackle was sold out till the end of April at that time. At Orscheln chicks are gone with an hour or two of arriving. I really feel sorry for the chicks as I assume many will not do well with inexperienced people.

I put in an order at Cackle the last couple of days in March. Pick up date is April 28th. I'm getting Jumbo Cornish cross chicks.

I'm still considering dashing up there and picking mine up. Ship date is April 29th for mine. So I'm guessing the pickup date is the day after the born on date. Looks like hatch day is Monday and Wednesday.

I covered mine on Thursday or Friday ( I forget which night it was) but I still lost about half of the tomato plants. :( I guess it was how the wind was blowing or something. Some plants were under the same cover and some would be great and others would be lost.

Tuesday night forecast is for 33°F here, I'm chinking up my cover and putting a 100w bulb in each one.

I'm in zone 7a so a bit warmer than most counties in Missouri. The plants I have outside are actually last years tomatoes that I cut and kept alive all winter.

Pick up days are on Tuesday and Thursdays. It would have doubled my cost to have them shipped, but it's only a 2 hour drive each way to drive up there.

It's 3 hours each way for me, no good way to get from 60 to Lebanon but I'm still considering making the drive. I guess I have a week or so to make up my mind. The original plan was to make a nice day trip to Cackle but with the Covid 19 I scratched that idea. I still might make a hit an run trip on the 30th.
