calling any one from missouri

I've been hearing the bird call, 'drink your tea' and asked my sister, an avid birder, who said it's the rufous sided towhee....I haven't spotted it, here's a stock photo. Anyone see or hear this bird in their whereabouts?

we have them here...i hear their “mewww” call that the pair make to each other when foraging, more than I see them or hear the ‘drink your tea’ call

this is the exact same Tiger lily bloom I posted the other day... it seems to have become more orangy after blooming a pale pinkish...

Lol, indeed they do...

Or maybe a ‘diverging diamond’ like Springfield?
oh those double diamond intersections! They are baffling!
Some traffic engineer had fun w those. We find them very disconcerting. Joplin has one too, down at I-44. Joplinites have trouble enuf with traffic circles. They put in a 2 lane roundabout that confused so many people that they had to offer classes on how to use it!

I think those crazy double diamonds make a lot of sense as far as relieving congestion ( I remember the intersection at I44 and 13 back before and you’d sit through three light cycles to get through 🤨 ) ...

those diamonds fixed all that, but they still make me a little panicked when I cross over into what feels like the wrong way, lol

my home town had a main 4 way stop when I was a kid ...

when they replaced that with a stop light and added left turn lanes in the early 90s, they put an article in the paper explaining how it worked... to help some elderly folks who were a bit confused...

someone sent it to Jay Leno and he included it in one of his ‘Small Town’ news segments, lol

it did read as if no one in town had ever seen a stop light before

I ordered this little rake on Ebay, paid $6.35. It will be perfect for cleaning the mini coop! The seller wrapped it in bubble wrap and tape only! The mail lady said, 'looks like you got a rake!'

That's R2D2 checking it out. Since the Sprights hatched on Star Wars day, (May the 4th,) they get Star Wars names. R2 is always the first to greet me, the first to investigate anything new. He is the first to make a squeaky 'er-er-ooo' in the mornings. There are 5 Spright cockerels, and only one gets to stay. Some say that friendliness leads to aggression, so R2 is not necessarily going to be the chosen one.

for those newcomers to the thread, 'Spright' is an abbreviation I made up for the Spitzhauben-Sebright cross. And yes, if you want one of the little roosters, you can have one, or more!
