What is this plant?
So in the midst of the surprise lilies, I had planted a bunch of nasturtiums, which the cat dug around and pushed them all together in one mass. Daily watering brought this big surprise plant, what it is called we don't know. We have seen them flowering elsewhere. Is it from a bulb? How did it get here?? I didn't plant it and have never seen these here before...

That's it! Canna lily. But how in the heck did it get there????Looks like maybe a canna lily?
they grow from bulbs ... but need to be lifted over winter in our area ... so maybe not?
have you put any of the nastrum leaves or blooms on your salads?

Yes, we are eating nasturtium leaves!
Right, ours were about to suffer that same plight, so I put little fences around each group. I took down the fences just today, so I can weed eat around them. Carefully weed eat.the kittens ‘rough housed’ on them and now they’re gone![]()
canna gnomes ....

And we do have gnomes here....I've seen them down by the crick. As well as elves, fairies and leprechauns....

Oh no! all tiny folk are welcome here, even the trolls!I think mothballs will get rid of the leprechauns and fairies, but you’ll need this spray for the gnomes....

you pretty much hafta trap the elves though... I’ve heard a set of car keys makes good bait
I like to have a few of these critters around though, even if they do hide things on me from time to time![]()
