Fluffy and his girls have settled in nicely! He is something else and already protective of his harem.

But we all had an exciting trip home... we had a hit and run by a deer. The driver side of my hood, headlight & windshield and the side mirror and doors on the driver side are all trashed. Like I said, it added some excitement to the trip home! LOL

I road tripped with flawedatdesign today to Jacob's Cave. It was fun to see the different poultry and I was excited about some of the bantams I picked up today.

Oh no!!! I've been hit by a turkey before who bashed in my windshield and roof on my little car a few years ago. He was flying across the road and I hit him at 50mph. Darn thing ran off when I got out and tried to Chase it. Tough old bird! I'm glad you made it home okay and I'm sorry you were a deer victim! I hope Fluffy and the girls give you many cute d'uccle chicks!

What kind of prices were bantams bringing up there?

The last ones I sold there brought $6 each. I sold some good standard layers there that brought $9 and some chicks that brought 90 cents.

You just never know with that place.

the monthly swap at Fordland is pretty good - lots and lots of poultry there. some garage sale stuff too, and its Amish country so they show up with home made pies and bread (YUM!!!) as well. some cool antique and amish-oriented tools too. last time I was there, if I'd had my truck, I'd have bought a horse powered saw mill... very cool.
