Hello, i was given an "Ameraucana" that is actually an Easter Egger, which I am fine with, he is an amazing looking rooster. However I am having a little difficulty identifying his parent's breeds.

Obviously one was an Ameraucana.

The other is???? A Cream Legbar perhaps? I saw several photos online where a the CL rooster looked identical to my big guy minus the barring and my guy has a small beard, muffs, a huge pea comb, and some blue feathering on his underside. (Ameraucana traits)

This is my first Easter Egger and I got him at 8 months old so anyone with more experience please chime in.
Thanks!

Most hatchery EEs are multi-generation EE x EE, which contributes to their wide range of colors and patterns.

The initial breed crosses are usually far in their distant ancestry.
That probably explains why it is so hard to identify.

I agree that there are no discernible breeds. Ameraucanas were developed from Easter Eggers so there is no in him Ameraucana either. Back many, many years ago he likely had Quechua in his genetics which were one of the original breeds that went into developing both Ameraucanas and Easter Eggers. :)
