Broccoli is either good or bad. If it is young and tight it’s Good... old is bad

It's the yeller looking one from this pic.
I *think* it was the liliac duck that laid the egg. No clue who the ducky daddy is though. I thought it was gonna be a pastel.
Is there a light phase of pastel maybe?
