Calmest duck breed?

I have pekins and buffs. My pekin is a big fluffy guy...and I love him. He is great and calm. He is almost always happy. He is very good to my buffs(which are females) and really loves them and watches them. This is him...just so you can see what he looks like.

This is him sticking his head up asking for more treats...the other ducks are buffs(also a great breed and I would highly recommend them too)!

We have six silver Appleyards (one drake and five ducks), and they are awesome! They love to hang out with us and come running when they see us. Amazing egg-laying and great foragers as well (pests in the garden have never been so low). Loads of personality!!! Those girls can be loud (especially at 4am here in Maine during the summer when they are ready to go play!).

MUSCOVY- hands down

They are easy to train to eat right out of your hand and love to be with you when doing chores or outside work.

In my experience, welsh are on the more timid side. Not as friendly by nature

If you are a lot around them, pick them up, cuddle and give them treats, they associate »human = good«.

I used to pick up and cuddle my ducklings a lot since birth, but the older they became, the more they came to despise being picked up. I eventually had to stop trying to reach for them otherwise they wouldn't let themselves get near my hand at all.

(I know a lot of ppl say getting low when approaching them helps, but what I found was the opposite. I can literally stand or walk next to them without problem because my hand couldn't reach them that way, but while I'm crouching, crawling, etc, they keep their distance.)

Now that I've stopped trying to pet them they'd come snuggle under me again like when they were little, sometimes, that is.

I have a muscovy and a blue runner, my muscovy is afraid of nothing, they don't "quack" so relatively quite, and she comes right up to me for treats. She can fly though so we have to clip her wings.
