Cameo Pied or Peach Pied???

Thank you both! This will really help with ID'ing the other chicks as well.

Now, a few genetics questions.....Pied and WE aside a Cameo male who is split Peach will produce both Cameo and Peach daughters, correct? No matter the hen? And would it be a 50:50 ratio (in theory)? To produce Peach sons he would need a Peach hen? And to produce Cameo Sons he would need a Cameo hen? If he gave a Cameo gene and mom gave a Peach Gene and the chick was male would Cameo be dominant over the Peach? Thank you again!

All your statements are correct!! Good job. If dad supplied peach and mom cameo, you have a cameo split peach male. The 50:50 is correct, but as in all genetics, it's an average over large numbers.

Here is our newest addition to the flock. We will need some name suggestions from @PeaLover130 ,

I am so hoping this is a little hen, I am fairly certain it is, but I don't have much experience with Cameos and none with Peach. Her father is a Cameo Pied WE that is supposed to be split to Peach, possible moms are Cameo BS, Peach and Peach with a split to white, pied or WE( she has white flights and several white feathers on her back. When I picked her up she was indoors and she looked Cameo to me, but out in the sun the orange color really pops out, so now I'm stumped. Really need some help from those who have Peaches, she hatched in July, but I don't know the exact date. I'll attach pics of her and the last otwo will be her father.

Pretty girl

I'll show PeaLover130 when she gets home this afternoon. Sorry, we've been offline for a few days. Love the male, he's very handsome!

I agree that that hen is peach pied. What are your thoughts on this peacock I am trying to sell: http://syracuse.craigslist.org/grd/4685438369.html He seems light in the pictures I posted. One picture shows him perched next to a peach silver pied peacock. He is molting now and his feathers are coming in darker slightly than the peach silver pied it seems.

Does anybody want him? I have others for sale too.

I have a few name suggestions. Here they are! 1. Suntail 2. Goldwing 3. Yellowfeather 4. Athena 5. Isis 6. Whitepatch 7. Artemis 8. Inquisitive 9. Diana 10. Brightcrest. Hope you like them! @Garden Peas (a.k.a. my mom) likes the name Princess Di (which she suggested) and Athena.

Okay @DylansMom , I have to admit, "Athena" is my favorite, "Princess Di" is a close second....

Or if you go with "Goldwing" -- you could always call her "Honda" for short

I also proposed "Astrid" but @PeaLover130 says that your bird is "more serene and seems calmer"; she says "Astrid" is for a "tougher" bird

Which is why SHE is the naming expert
