Camera Question

One other thing. The other main advantage of a mirrorless or DSLR long term is lens interchangeability. With a fixed lens Point and Shoot, what it comes with is what you get. There are hundreds of lens options available for the other platforms that will allow you to explore photography to your heart's desire with a simple glass swap. Just something else to consider, as that expanadability also comes with a price (good glass isn't always cheap)

That is very good to know! Learning something new each day!

Hey Friends,

I'm back... Everybody take cover! :P

So I am contemplating investing in a camera now. Even more than before, I gathered my thoughts and though about the proper price range for my needs. Three fifty max.

My Dad has been helping me too figure out the right one. Cause I wanna camera that'll last me around ten years. I also took a couple points from @azurbanclucker and boy did it help.

I was wondering, has anybody considered/owned/wanted/heard of the Nikon coolpix B500 or B700? The B700 is snazzy... But a bit outta my price range.

I really like the B500. That's a good lil' camera from what I see! (Any reviews welcome).

The B500 that I want is a kit, here's the link:

https://www.amazon.com/Nikon-COOLPI...scsubtag=be2627e8-f9bc-46a9-ada6-6e143113bc3c

Your opinion! Is it a good deal? Thanks everybody!

My only concern is that you may still run into issues shooting sunsets. the sensor in this one is definitely better than the one you have now, but you're still going to run into some problems in high contrast exposure situations.

However, for the price, that's tough to walk away from as an upgrade to what you're using now. I'd say go for it. If you get a year or 2 out of it and are happy, worth the price. If you go longer, even better. :)

Hey! Ah, yes. That is a concern but I agree an upgrade from the coolpix I have now. :)

Thanks! I appreciate it greatly. After I talk it over with my Dad, I'm pretty sure I'll go for it! Thanks again for the advice you have given, it is all very much helpful.

I'll fill you in once I get it settled. Another good part about it is if I decide to get it but then want to get another in the future, I'll have it still and see how it does.

Have a good evening! God bless.

Hey folks! So... I got a camera! I decided to go with the Nikon COOLPIX B700. I got it just 'bout a week ago. It's a real neat little camera.
The price was a little risky... But it was by far worth the ($430). The 60x zoom is so dang amazing!

One of the best cameras I've ever owned/held. Here are some photos I got with it: (Plus my profile pic).

Not to mention, it's doing pretty good with sunsets/rises/sun

I am very happy with the clearness of the photos.

Sadly, this one, below, was from our bad storm. You can see the damage of the trees. But I admired the photo by the sun.

When you go to get one, so far I'd definitely suggest the B700! :)
It would be nice but i doubt i would spend that much. We just bought this cabin, a new to us truck, a new Mule, had a porch put on, bought a garage and a workshop! So the budget is a bit strained.

Ah, I see! Yes, I would expect so!! Maybe in the future. ;) :)
(Also, mine was new. It won't hurt to keep an eye out for a used one! :D)
