Due to their short lives and vulnerability to illness and predators, most of us have been through the heart ache of losing birds despite our very best efforts and can only sympathise with your loss. It is upsetting but you did your best for her and she had a far better life with you than most chickens get the opportunity of. We get a lot of pleasure from keeping them but as with everything in life, there is some heartache too. Hopefully the sadness will soon fade and you will be able to remember and enjoy the good times again.
