Can a hen move all there eggs????

Honestly, I really would like to know some of the turkey hen behaviors from those of you that have turkeys. Yesterday my dog found my hen nesting in the brush next to a tree. Later the hen got up so I went over to see how many eggs she was sitting on. This is the first time finding ANY eggs. I believe there were 7. I was so excited that I counted fast and didn't want to stay to long. This morning I heard her making all kinds of noise like she did last night before she went back on her nest. I noticed she had been walking around the back yard so I went to check on her nest. There was only 1 egg in there and it was warm. Strange, where did all the other eggs go? My dog stayed outside so I doubt any preditors. Then a little later...... hour maybe I went to check again and there were NO eggs. The nest is fine, not disturbed. Could she have moved her eggs to a new location? and what is all the noise she is making. Kind of like a loud bark? Could it be a loud cluck maybe? It's not the chirp sound..... it's a longer deeper and louder sound. Also, how long is the incubation period of a turkey egg?

I find the turkeys rather fascinating. They do all kinds of different things then what I would ever imagine about a bird. Very cool to watch. Actually, all my birds are amazing. I love watching them.

My dog has found a few of my turkey nests, and he eats the eggs. Solved that with a correction collar.

No, I don't believe she will eat the eggs. She let me know she found the hen and showed me where she was. My dogs are with my birds all day and can't be bothered with the eggs. Besides, she wasn't near the nest when the other warm egg disappeared.

Okay. My dog doesn't bother my birds either, but he brought in an egg from outside and started eating it in the kitchen. Just a thought.

My hens have never moved a nest. I do have ravens that wait for a chance to eat eggs. I have also had squirrels eat my eggs too. My bet is it is the dog.

Usually a dog or other animal will leave shell fragments laying around. The only animal I can think would completely devour an egg is a snake. They will swallow them whole. I have never had a hen sit so I am unsure if they would move their nest or not.

I was missing eggs from the coop. I found them a few feet away with little rat teeth in them. I am working on re-locating the rats.

My dogs think my eggs are balls. They carry them off before one breaks and they eat them. They will take them right off my counters and eat them whole. Never a mess in the house. No shells to be found.

No shells at all. The nest isn't even disturbed. I looked where the dog hangs out but nothing there either. I sure wish I had picked up that last warm egg. Hopefully she will try again. Bummer, I was so close to having a broody turkey with eggs to hatch. Maybe another time.

Look at your dogs poo in the next few days, if he did eat them, there will be shell in it!
