I tried the projector, I turned it sideways and it worked great. But I put a hole in my leather foot rest I had it on.

And, by the way, I've been lead to believe that nuthin' is gonna let you see into an Ameraucana egg.....

I'm setting some today and I'm not gonna even look at 'em.

On day 18 I'll sniff them...

And that's it.

Susan, I tried my hand at candling this morning and I could see some faint veining in my blue Ameraucana eggs. I was using a surefire 6p flashlight.

I could see into the blue eggs better than the Marans eggs.

Well, well, well, guess that puts me back on the hook, huh.....Okay, Julie, what day were you on?

I think now that I've gotten through one full incubation and been able to see into some of the other eggs, I'll probably be a bit more willing to try to see into this batch.

I had three Cuckoo Marans hatch day before yesterday, and I hadn't been able to see them well enough to know for sure I was gonna get them....

Practice will certainly make it easier, I'm sure....

I went to Sam's this morning and bought a 2 pack of LED flashlights that are 150 lumens!!! I came home and put the batteries in the light, grabbed me an egg out of the bator (gently) that I couldn't see into with any other light and went into the closet of darkness. Oh my goodness! I could even see the chicks feet and toes!

I couldn't believe it!

If you want a bright light, they have the 2 packs at Sam's that are worth every penny you pay for them.
