can any "production red" experts tell me if this is a little roo?

I wing-sexed my RIR from McMurray. The difference between the two sexes in my batch was very obvious. I was 100% correct with the sexing. Not sure if this could help you though?

ok, so I learned a lot thank you everybody!! I think its safe to assume boy, back to the feed store I go. They had one little black silkie left, maybe Ill get it instead

If you were able to Feather Sex them they are Production Reds (Rhode Island Red with Leghorn blood added).
If they were a Rhode Island Red you would not be able to Feather Sex them.

Yea, they are production reds. I got them from McMurray and I think that is all they carry. I'd give my right arm for a real red flock, lol.

ok so if i can feather sex a production red how do i do that?

My boys kept their shorter feathers for a lot longer than three days. I cannot remember when they finally caught up to the hens.

I found the heritage, I just can't afford to buy anything for a long time, lol. I love the rose combs, that's the ones I want.
